Trying to receive a bit of amateur radio satellite communication with the information from How to work a FM satellite - Amsat UK. I tried to receive the SO-50 Saudisat, it came over my location at a reasonable time. Without a directional antenna I only had a vertical to test reception, so it was not a surprise reception was very bad. I heard mostly noise with the squelch wide open, but I have heard some bits of conversation when the satellite was right overhead.

I used the AmsatDroid application for radio amateur satellite tracking which makes it quite userfriendly to predict passes for a given satellite.
